 Deer Blind

I am in Michigan and trying to find a manufacturer of Fiberglass or cedar deer blinds. I would prefer a elevated blind but I will do with a ground blind if I have to. So far all the manufactures I have found are in Texas or Alabama. I can think of better things to due over the 4th of july than drive 6,000 miles to pick up a deer blind. I have seen some panel concept buildings out of cedar but so far the smallest I have found is 12x12. Any one know of any web sites or manufactures closer to me ?

Doc, I have heard good things about units made in SC by Mike Black, a friend has one, he's very impressed by the quality, price seemed good too. The company is called "Black Shadow Deer Stands" they have models of every size and description.

Best of luck.

Murf, thanx but I am really after a elevated blind not a stand. I am after at least a 4x6 that is able to be elevated. Most of this type is made of fiberglass.

Ahh, sorry, my mistake.

Most people up here just use 'Baker's Scaffolding', the stuff used in construction jobs, then they put a tent or garden shed on top. It's built in a 'knock down' style for ease of moving between jobs and can be rented or purchased used cheaply.

Best of luck.

Thats an idea but I still am after something a bit nicer. I am really after a cadillac of a permanent blind. I found one place that is panelconcepts dot com. They make a 12x12 cedar pre fab that is pretty slick although more expensive and I was hopeing to stay at 8x8. Most of the fiberglass blinds in Tx are around 3k but by the time I drive there with hotels and fuel its going to be more than a few pennys more.

A search on google for fibreglass deer blind finds a number of manufacturers. This one is in Texas but they say they deliver nationwide.

Bill, thanx. this company is actually my very first pick. I had over looked that they have their own delivery system. As it turns out they have a single delivery to illinois in July so this will likely be the one I get. It is actually for my wife and I really like that it has stairs and not a ladder.
